Have you ever met someone for the first time and felt that you had known him or her for years? Do you feel drawn to a particular era or culture? Have you ever experienced déja vu? If so, you may be closer to a past life thank you think.

Reincarnation is a common cultural belief in most non-Western societies in the world. In fact, it is only in the West and in most Muslim societies that reincarnation is not taken for granted. Belief in reincarnation was expressed in the writings of Greek philosophers and in ancient Christian theology, but was banned by the second church Council of Constantinople in 553 A.D. However, some Christian sects still believe in reincarnation and it is central in Sufism. It also plays an important role in Jewish mysticism (i.e. the Cabbala). Even Native Americans and the Inuits believe in reincarnation (see A. Mills: Amerindian Rebirth: Reincarnation Belief among North American Indians and Inuit (1994)).

The late psychiatrist Dr. Ian Stevenson from University of Virginia was a pioneer in the contemporary attempt to scientifically study reincarnation. During his more than forty years of research he documented cases of young children who seemed to remember a past life. Many of these cases could be verified. His most famous book is probably Twenty Cases Suggestive of Reincarnation from 1966. Most of the cases are from Asia where people usually believe in reincarnation. But it is important to note that families in Asia regard it as a bad omen when children tell about a previous life and thus they try to suppress such statements. However, in his later years Stevenson also managed to document cases from Europe.

Ian Stevenson's research has found some patterns that are stable across cultures. First of all, as children grow older their memories of past lives frequently begin to fade. Secondly, children who remember past lives often remember lives which ended in violent deaths. Often these children had a phobia which seemed to be related to their death in a past life, for example could a fear of water be caused by drowning. In his comprehensive book “Reincarnation and Biology” from 1997 Stevenson also demonstrates the possible correlations between birth marks and wound or scars from a previous existence.

The Finnish psychiatrist Raima Kampmann in a study hypnotically regressed subjects to a past life. Some of the subjects could then tell about a life in another country or time period. However, Kampmann did not set out to study reincarnation, instead he calls these identities “secondary personalities”. Other studies have found past life therapy to be effective in the treatment of simple and social phobias and agoraphobia.

In this workshop we will open the gateway to these inner dimensions of ourselves, but we will need a guide to help us journey back in time and Dr. Gallegos will show you how. He will also show how you can heal painful or traumatic experiences from a real or fantasized past life. Thus you will learn a lot more about yourself and get a whole new perspective on your life.

It should be emphasized that it is not necessary to believe in reincarnation to benefit from this workshop, but it is important that you are open-minded for what you may experience.
